Flower seed wedding favors have been all of the rage as of lately. I’ve been to 3 weddings in the past year, and all of the brides and grooms gave out these favors to their guests. I’m actually thinking about getting a green thumb because of these favors. They’re pretty easy to grow, so even if you have a habit of ruining plants, you can still grow these without failure. If this trend keeps on going the way that it is now, I’m going to run out of room on my window for these plants.
I don’t have any plans to get married at the moment, but one of my close friends is going to get married in the near future. They’ve been making small plans for their wedding here and there, and they’re going to have to start thinking about favors soon. Continue reading The Popularity of Seed Favors
When my parents moved to a small town, they knew they would have no trouble in life because my dad was a plant foreman and did an excellent job at it. The biggest company in town was a food plant and they had hired him to work there. Dad was really into his work, and he loved what he did for a living. He would come home at night and talk about the velocity transducer that he had used that day or some other sort of equipment that seemed so worldly to me. Mom would beam at him because she was happy when he was happy. I have a good family, and life at home has always been great.
When I grew older, I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do in life. I had worked at the plant some when I got right out of high school. I worked in their main office upstairs. But I really wanted to become a teacher. So, I stayed there working in the office after I graduated, but my plan was to also go to college. Mom let me borrow her car every day, and I would go to the plant to work during the day, and then I would drive to the community college in the next town over in order to take night classes. It was there that I got my associate degree. Soon after, I applied to a university in our state and that is where I got my teaching degree.
Good teachers are badly needed in our little town. So, after graduation, I decided to come home to each in the elementary school. I have been doing it for 7 years now, and I adore it. I love my students and I love all of their families. I gives me great joy to help these kids get a good start in life. I will be here until I retire.
Of course fifteen years ago when I started out very few people had mobile phones and I got on pretty well without one. In fact I can remember when no one except drug dealers and millionaires could afford to have a mobile phone. Now I am completely reliant on my smart phone and it was a catastrophe when I cracked the screen on my phone while traveling on business. I had to figure out how to find someone who does iphone repair in Richmond, which would have been a simple task if I had had my phone. Instead I found a public library and went in there to quickly use the internet on a public computer. I had to send out a couple of emails too, which frightened me pretty much. I felt so bad for my son when he told me that the deodorant I had been buying for him was irritating his skin. He showed me his underarm, and I was surprised at just how red it was. I had no idea that he had such sensitive skin! I knew that he needed to have a new deodorant, but I was not able to find the one that he needed. I did a search online so I could find out which of the dozens of different ones was the best deodorant for men who have sensitive skin.
I was able to find a website that had a lot of information on deodorants for people who have sensitive skin issues. Continue reading Getting Deodorant for My Son with Sensitive Skin
Having a locked phone is not much fun when life changes for you. For me, it was having to move back to my parents’ house for a few months. I knew that this would help me to get back on my feet, so I was looking forward to it, but I also knew that I was going to have to change my phone carrier since I have never been able to get good coverage when visiting them. I did a search for an official iPhone factory unlock, which is how I found a site that does all the work in unlocking my phone.
I would not have minded switching at all if it hadn’t meant that the company I was going to go with wanted me to buy a new phone rather than use the one that I have been using for the last couple of years. Continue reading I Saved a Bunch of Money
It is going to be a pretty tough deal for me, but I have decided that I really do not want to rent any more and that is going to be the project that I am looking for. Of course you have to take stock of the resources that you have at your disposal and then you have to think about what it is going to cost you to live in the period after you get where you want to go. That is the really important thing obviously, because you want to make a decision that you are going to be happy with. You do not want to rush into anything and then turn around and see that you made the decision without thinking it through. The truth is that you have to consider all of the factors. When my husband told me he had an opportunity to transfer to South Carolina, I was so happy. We were living nearly 900 miles from most of my family, and living in Columbia would put me within 30 minutes of most of them. We talked about it, and it took us just a few hours to decide that it was the right move. I went online to look at some apartment complexes, and that is how I found Park at Boulder Creek in Columbia SC. I knew that we would eventually want a house with a large yard, but we had to make sure that we were going to stay there first.
I did not want to spend a lot of money on an apartment, but I also did not want to go cheap on one either. That is where Park at Boulder Creek came into play. It is not expensive, but it is a really nice area to live. Continue reading Moving 900 Miles Away Was Easy
Having so few choices in Louisville, KY for your Internet and television content needs, it makes you wonder how a company like Time Warner Cable is not seen as a monopoly. It’s only going to become worse if they are allowed to merge with Comcast as, in response to that, DirecTV and AT&T have been considering their own merger. These companies, except for perhaps DirecTV Internet, have some of the very worst in package deals that a company could ever offer a consumer. Seriously. The United States has always been a beacon of high technology and yet here we are being stifled by these companies who want nothing more than their lions’s share of the profits as they punish the United States and us, the consumers and citizens of this great nation, by charging us more than nearly any other Asian country in terms of how much MB/speed is going to cost a customer. In fact, many nations have free Internet which is far better than what we have.
We paid for the digital infrastructure that they are utilizing. Continue reading We Need More Diverse Options
When I decided to look into motor trade in the uk, I was really thankful that there was a section of their website that answered all of my questions. I was planning on opening my own car lot and garage, but I knew that I needed to get insurance first before I did this. I was just going to have too many cars under my responsibility, and I needed to make sure that they were sufficiently covered. I also knew that I was going to have at least 10 employees, and any one of them could be driving cars from one location to another.
Because of this, I was not sure if they were all automatically covered under my insurance policy or if I needed to add each one individually to it. Continue reading It Was Easy to Get Coverage
Quebec continues to show disagreement with government plans to hike post secondary education tuition costs. The proposed hike would mean that students pay up to seventy-five percent more over the next seven years. Many protests have taken place, and students, government workers and union members are not opposed to expressing their disagreement.
While we all realize the importance of a post secondary education, and no one wants to see prices increase, a middle ground needs to be found in this case. The cost of education continues to rise, with rising costs of facilities, staff, updated technology and other educational supplies. Someone must pay for this, whether it be the tax payers, the schools or the students themself. Avoiding these costs all together is impossible, and it would result in a substandard educational system that students would not be happy with and thus, would likely protest.
While the explanation for the need for this law is simple enough, it is also easy to see the other side. Continue reading The Opposition to Bill 78
Quebec has a rich history of socialist parties and people working actively to advance social democracy ideals such as worker’s rights and universal healthcare. As far back as the early 20th century, Canada has seen so-called leftist parties and activist groups protesting, organizing for political purposes and running candidates for office.
A number of groups came and went in those early days, including the Socialist Party of Canada, the Communist Party of Canada, the Canadian Labour Congress and more recent parties widely considered radical because of their differences with mainstream left and right parties.
